Don’t let square footage keep you from decking your homes halls this holiday season. Here are a few ideas to help make you space merry and bright!
No room for a Christmas tree? You don’t have to go without one as there are plenty of options available, such as table trees or even miniature trees that you can find smaller decorations for just like full sized trees. The Dollarama sells everything you need to make a miniature tree for your home. I made this one for around $5.
Who doesn’t love the smell of evergreen trees around Christmas time? For years I have burned scented candles at Christmas but only in the past couple of years have I found my personal favourite… Fresh Balsam from the Bath and Body shop makes our home smell just like we have a real tree without the sap and needles everywhere! I love to burn this candle with a cranberry one even better holiday aroma!
Use your windows to their full potential and decorate with a beautiful holiday wreath. A battery operated string of lights can be used on a wreath to light up you space and a will look great from the street. Want real greenery? The Superstore sells great already decorated fresh wreaths for $10, otherwise, Michaels Craft Store or Homesense are great places to find one.
Swap out your couch cushions for holiday or winter themed pillows. Buy ones that can be used throughout the winter months to get the most bang for your buck. Chapters Indigo has an assortment of winter inspired pillows. My personal favourite is the one that says “let is snow”
Have some fun with your front door! Decorate your door with snowflakes, a wreath or even your stocking! Regardless of the size of your home, a few holiday decorations can boost your spirit and get you ready to celebrate the season!
Happy Holiday!
