There are so many funny, memorable and incredible things that happen to us as we go along each day working as full time Realtors. We are exposed to so many different people and have many encounters with the public that we are bound to have some stories that are worth sharing. This story is about a couple that I had the opportunity of meeting recently as they were interested in one of our listings. I was contacted through email by a couple who wanted information about a property and after going back-and-forth emailing each other, we booked an appointment for a viewing. Unfortunately for them, an offer came in before we could view it together and they had missed out! Lucky for them, the buyer’s didn’t fulfil their conditions and they had the opportunity to view the property we me on a Monday evening. I arrived to the property early, as I typically do and was waiting on the front porch of the home when I received a text message stating he was running late as traffic was bad but his wife would be arriving momentarily. Within minutes she had pulled up to the house with a vehicle full of children and scurried them out of the van and on the porch with me and said “my husband will be here any minute, I’m so sorry I have to go to work – can you please watch my children?”
I tend to be a go with the flow kind of person and welcomed the children to the front porch while I wished a camera crew was hiding in the bushes with cameras filming a real estate commercial. I couldn’t help but holler at the vehicle as she drove away and left me with her 3 children… “If you can’t trust a realtor who can you trust?”
The four of us sat on the front porch getting acquainted and within a few minutes their father arrived to view the property. I will always look back on that day and smile and remember the time that I have the opportunity to babysit potential buyers children for only a few minutes before showing the property. Are you curious to know if these buyers ended up buying this property? They did! Congratulations to K and A on the purchase of your first investment property! Looking forward to doing business with you in the future.
